“Dream Yuva”

It was indeed a great pleasure to see students of MBA (Marketing & Sales) IIIrd Semester of Amity Business School, Lucknow Campus conducting a Marketing & Sales Activity “Dream Yuva” during the festival of 'NAVRATRI'on Friday 19th October 2012 under the guidance of Prof. V.P. Sahi, Director, Amity Business School. This activity was designed to provide students with "real life" experiential learning opportunities facilitated by Dr. Shaili Vadera, Prof. R.P Gupta and Dr. Sachin Srivastava.  

Students were divided into four teams, each team comprising of six students who have put up their respective stalls simultaneously at four different temple locations in Lucknow. The students first conducted a survey of the selected items which were then procured from the local market at the lowest cost from the corpus collected by the students. The items included Flowers, Coconut, Chunri, Bindi, Sindoor, Dry fruits, Prasad, Puja samagri, Agarbatti, Kalava, Roli etc. These items were chosen as they do not come with an MRP and can move as per the demand of the local market. The students learned to apply direct marketing strategy at the very grass-root level by selling Navratri puja items at these locations.
 
Students were able to experiment with ideas and ultimately master the application of concepts to real situations and deal with team dynamics. The students also emphasized on the importance of selling quality product to customers. All the four teams were able to earn good profits at the end of the day.
