IVYCOMM System, Faridabad, an industrial township in the National capital region, manufactures herbal supplements and ayurvedic medicines and have achieved success not long ago. The enterprise is exports their products to the Western markets such in USA, UK & Canada.

They have their integrated manufacturing unit in Amritsar (North India) well equipped with a modern laboratory having various R & D and testing facilities. IVYCOMM develops different formulations using the best indigenous herbs obtained from different parts of the country.

“Initially the business was not very visible,” says Puneet Aggarwal, and hastens to add, “the breakthrough was not achieved until we joined Alibaba.com in 2000.” Puneet was hesitant in the beginning but following his thorough research on the internet, he hit upon the Amibaba.com site though another search engine.

 “Alibaba.com was the leading B2B e-marketplace back in 2000 and is still the world's leading B2B e-marketplace today,” he says with visible pride. “The site is extremely comprehensive, unique and user-friendly.”

In order to remain competitive and improve his business' visibility on the platform, Puneet decided to become a Gold Supplier member in 2003. Puneet says, “Registering as a Gold Supplier member lends a business more credibility. With a verified company profile, as a Gold Supplier member, we have been able to gain the trust of buyers. We now receive small orders valued at US$5,000 to US$6,000 regularly.”

Small wonder, today Puneet's enterprises generates about 50% of the leads through Alibaba.com platform. “The business is rosy and is growing by the day,” quips he.

“My favorite feature in Alibaba.com is definitely TradeManager. It has made conducting business easier,” said Puneet. “The online chat functionality allows me to stay connected with buyers. Being able to chat with buyers in real-time has sped up the negotiation process.”

Thanks to Alibaba.com, Puneet has expanded his ever-growing business to even cater to the European markets as well.
