IT Confluence by Amity: Time for the Academia and the Industry to Join Hands

Expressing her serious concern about the lack of good faculty, Dr Shukla observed that there was a striking imbalance in demand and supply. “Right talent is not available in the industry. The quality of the training is not up to the desired level. The chief reason being non-availability of good professionals for the academic institutions as they are more inclined to join the corporate world.” She sent out a fervent appeal for a compatible handshake between the acamedia and the industry.
The event was organized in association with EMC Data Storage Systems Pvt. Ltd. in media partnership with SME WORLD.

Attended by various luminarires including Maj. Gen. K Jai Singh, Vice Chancellor AUUP, Manoj Chugh, President India & SAARC, EMC Data Storage Systems (India) Pvt Ltd. and Maj. Gen. A.K. Jain, Addl. Director & HOD IT-ASET, the summit marked Amity's endeavour to make students familiar with the industry requirement and to instill a sense of innovation in them and encourage them with the experiences of the leaders of the industry.
The summit focussed on the strategies for 'Information & Storage Management'. It served as a platform to make awareness about the enormity and complexity of challenges in managing and storing information. The leaders and experts shared their experiences on new ideas while addressing various issues such as the increasing use of new emerging technology such as Cloud Computing, Data Centre, Virtualization, Data De-Duplication and their impact on the business.
Speaking on the importance of the data management systems, Dr. Shukla said, “Data and information is a key to business. Information could be of the various types. It could be based on the people specific, usage specific, duration specific, based on the value & information and also based on the nature. Information could be in various forms too. Now when the growth of the information is rising day by day in steep competitive environment, the importance of the data management systems has increased.”
The similar remark also was made by Manoj Chugh, “Businesses are transforming. Where there is challenge there is opportunity too. Now time is coming when cloud computing would be in the focus. Many new technologies are being invented day by day. It is creating huge demand for the skilled professionals and there is need of a breed of skilled professionals who must be updated with emerging technologies”
