This book is an excellent piece of tool for all SMEs, Start-Ups and Entrepreneurs. It's like a plug and play concept. For all SMEs etc who are operational or just about to start, read this book and you will be able to put in place very fast all your processes which are required to run the organization. No need to think on your own. Simply implement these and thus save huge time which you could use for sales, technology, production etc from where your bread and butter come.
Implementation of these policies would ensure you have the best practices in place to attract talent, retain talent, get productivity out of them, have a vibrant organization, flow of positive energy etc. And all this is important to ensure that your people remain so motivated and skilled that they can produce best results for your mainstream.
The focus on PEOPLE is very important because it is said that 10 years from now, the world would have either aged people or teens and India would be the only place which would have middle aged population which would thus be in major demand globally. So, our advice is not to wait for ten years but to start focusing on people form today so that 10 years from now, people talks great things about your company. In our opinion, the departmental heads of large organizations are equivalent to CEOs of small enterprises and they can pick up some very interesting thoughts form this book to apply in their department.
There are three creditable things about this book: one, the English is very simple making it very easy for the reader. Second, there are 100 chapters and each chapter is just of 3 pages. The reader can thus read in bits and pieces over weeks and not to be forced to read all in one shot.
Considering that each SME CEO is very busy, these compartmentalized learning may be convenient. Third, the learnings shared are not theoretical. Ajay Wahi shares the concept and then talks of how practically he implemented each concept. Fourthly, each chapter is concluded with 3 line son cautions while implementing each learning and also 3 lines to share what are the benefits of these learnings.
The book has well received. The author is now working on the second book: Get Noticed Get Promoted. While the first book focuses on SMEs, the second one would help all young managers and executives world over to portray themselves professionally in such a manner that they get noticed from thousands of other employees and thus get promoted. And if in each company so many employees start to behave much better, it's the gain for the organization eventually.
