Grassroot Problems of Milk Farmers Discussed

VRS Foods Ltd. (Paras Group) organized a one day seminar at milk collection and chilling center, Shapoo, district Dhaulpur recently. V. P. Gandhi Dairy Development Advisor, of the leading milk and milk product manufacturer explained about the importance of clean milk production and the recent program launched for creating awareness and educating the farmers and milk producers to take various measures and avoid residue contamination of antibiotics / veterinary medicines & pesticides. They were advised about the harmful effect and thus prohibiting the use of Oxytocin hormone.

Dr. Rajindra Prasad Sharma, Assistant Director-LSD, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services who was the Chief Guest for the seminar shared his experiences along with his team of eight veterinary officers from the adjoining milk shed area and representative from Godrej Agrovet Ltd., Virbac Animal Health India Pvt. Ltd. MARC India Limited.

Sharma emphasized that this should also be repeated at various MCC's organized by Public, Private and Cooperative sector in the State.

Various issues and aspects like dewrming of young calves, bloat, mastitis, heat period – anaestrus, artificial in semi nation, feeding, breeding, management, etc. were explained to the milk farmers.

A total no. of 900 milk producers participated and subsequently prizes were distributed to selected milk producers in the quiz competition organized for the better understanding of the issues to the farmers.

Refrigerators, color TVs, and cycles was also awarded to selected producers and suppliers on the basis of total maximum milk quantity and quality.
