Towards Security-free Environ for SMEs Need for Education to Know Online Security Implications
Jan 2011
The social networking is also being used by many as the marketing tool. Many professionals and SMEs are using these sites to showcase their products or services. Many of them use these sites to stay in touch with their customers or clients. They share latest development in their product or services. Fortunately the networking facility comes free and all you need is the latest and high end devices.
As the technology brings with it its own shortfalls, the networking too may not be risk-free. The privacy of individuals using such platform may not remain private always. There may be incidents of data stealing and virus attack, financial fraud, malware threat, etc.
To afford you security against such looming threats there are many security solution providers who promise to give complete security for your individual information or enterprise information. Symantec is one of them.
Our Chief Editor, Rajen Kuamr interacted with David David Dzienciol, Vice President for Channel and SMB, Asia Pacific and Japan, Symantec in Mumbai recently.
In years to come the users of computer will grow tremendously because its penetration is yet to reach the optimum level. What opportunity do you see in India with the ICT revolution?
Number of internet users is rising. Expectation for the maximum is already on. What is interesting about India is that internet users are increasing and the use of internet in the SMEs is also rising. Ten years back, the SMEs were using various print materials to get publicity or showcase their products or services to their customers. But it was very costlier way. Now with rising awareness about the ICT applications and internet the SMEs are now using internet as a more effective and cheaper way to publicize their products or services. It is very easy to source the products or services on any B2B marketplace and it is very easy and effective way. Many of the SMEs understand the need for having a website which provides a great opportunity to the SMEs. With the advent of social media the online activities of SMEs have increased significantly. Facebook, twitter, or any other social networking sites give business opportunity to stay connected to the customers or client. So, it is very exciting time for SMEs. Interesting fact is that to use all these opportunities SMEs need to not to be IT qualified or form a separate department of IT experts for global exposure.
