To make the jewelers aware of the various new selling techniques in the era of Internet, GJTCI organized a seminar in association with DIC - Ahmedabad. The seminar threw light on online selling, business with neighboring countries like China and new selling techniques in Jewellery Business. The directory for 2012 with all new members added was launched in this event.

The event saw Dr. Chatterjee - Director- Centre for Entrepreneurship Development as chief guest. Ex - Mrs Universe Jimmy Nanda was also present during the Directory Launch adding glamour to event.

The seminar was conducted by Vishal Acharya, Sr. Manager, Global Network Trade Consulting, on Online Sale of Jewellery and Jewellery Business with China. A seminar by Gemmological Institute of America was also conducted by Apoorva Deshingkar on 7 Steps to sell Jewellery.

GJTCI also felicitated few artisans who have contributed immensely towards keeping the art of Handmade Jewellery Making alive. They are the symbol of our Heritage Jewellery Making Art and have carved new heights for themselves by constant innovation & dedication. 

On this occasion, GJTCI President Mr Shantibhai Patel announced Rs. 50,000/- for any accidental death of any member or artisan and also announced financial help to the artisans who are in need of educational or health related support. He also announced the next conference of GJTCI outside India where opportunities can be sought out by visiting and research.

The seminar and Directory Launch took place at Imperial Hall, Hotel Pride, Judges Bungalow Road, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad on December 18, 2011 at 10.30 am to 1.00 pm.   

All the leading jewellers and diamond merchants of Ahmedabad and other cities were present in large number during the function including the officials from the Industry Commissionerate and DIC - Ahmedabad. 

Gem & Jewellery Trade Council of India (GJTCI) serves as a common platform for companies and firms (~ 650 across India) interested in expansion of their business beyond the existing limitations & as an information hub to access the latest developments, state of the art technologies, in the industry all over the globe. They also act as an interaction cell between various Government/ semi government/ public/ private sector bodies for developmental activities among its members.
