The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh came out of the office of Financial Adviser of the World Bank to be Bharat's Prime Minister. How? By Whom? By Sonia? Non-political economist as Prime Minister of Socialist India with no political background nor elective backing. Why? A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

God is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. Corruption too is Omnipotent in India and operationally on top. So too, Indian Corruption is above God, above Cricket, above Commonwealth games and in every State institution and office! Indian Man even in the Cabinet, Central and State is marketable and sells his dignity and spiritual divinity to Dollar and MNCs. Blasphemy! even the Prime Minister? Yes. By silence and inaction. Inaction is not innocence where action is an obligation. By being tainted taciturn and straight yet surrender to sleep over corruption, is guilt if it facilitates the retention of power. So Swaraj by the PM's silence is mirage. 

Money Governs Shrines

Everywhere, everyone and as much by delinquency as by nonfeasance everything is corrupt. The Trustees of State Power in the Executive, Legislative and, even marginally, Judicative, submit to Money power and malfeasance. Hindu Devaswoms and famous shrines are governed by Money—Go to any temple or high priest. If you are rich and pay a high price you have a special access in Thirupathi and Guruvayur. Narayana Guru, the great spiritual—material revolutionary of Kerala is now in the hands of his richest disciple with wealth, on caste basis and corrupt colleges with sale of seats and teachers and communalist cult. 

Look at the Cross. Jesus was crucified, nailed to death but his cells and soul bled for the poorest lowliest and suffered death; for salvation of all humanity and all creation as integral to the Kingdom of God. Now his disciples have Arch-bishops, bishops and a palatal Vatican with Infinite Wealth of Christendom as his (Christian) asset and under his reign. Christendom is imperialist. Islam tends to be terrorist and Hinduism Chauvinist. And the Great Prophet stood for one world, one humanity, compassion for all men and women. The followers of this greatest humanist of our earth is now the world's organised terrorism. 

Alas, Prophet you stood for sacrifice and charity for the poor and the hungry yet some of your Haj disciples are a wonder of wealth with no distributive justice to the weak or women. Now our great and straight statesman Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan is tacitly delinquent by shielding corrupt ministers, guilty of extravagant bribery even in games and Olympics. No bread for the have-nots but million dollars a day for receptions and bliss in heaven!

Pious Muslims with dizzy devotion to Merciful Allah pray punctually five times a day. The Prophet mandates Id as an obligation for supreme sacrifice. Every Muslim, true to Islam, must sacrifice, share and care for the poor since you are your brother's keeper. Adi Sankara of Kaladi articulated the conscience of the Vedic teachings demanded advaita as the quintessence of Hinduism. 

Integrity Is Not Enough

God gave you wealth. It is his, not yours. It is trust and humanity is the beneficiary. Share since it belongs to the needy and the lowly or else your priestly pilgrimage and poojas are egregious hypocrisy. Respected Prime Minister, mere integrity is not enough, positively hound out the corrupt. We need sharp, socialist policies and give no quarter for the corrupt or the mafia or Big Business. The integrity of your office is higher, a treasure, not the political patronage of dubious party operators. The Prime Minister chooses his ministers. That is the essence of our Parliamentary Cabinet System. I hear Raja goes but some other VIP is going to choose his successor! Then you will be placing an axe at the very root of our cabinet system of Government. Don't destroy the Cabinet System. We, the People of India are the sovereign. Socialist, Secular Democratic is our Republic. Wipe every tear from every eye is our Tryst with Destiny. This Tryst should not be turn into a hoax. Fulfill it with courage. You are in power and the people in Churchill's words:

The little man, walking into a little booth, with a little pencil, making a little cross on a little bit of paper—no amount of rhetoric or voluminous discussion can possibly diminish the overwhelming importance of the point.

Delinquency Guilty

While dealing with corruption in the country at highest levels what have gripped the nation's attention are the sharp observations made by the Supreme Court on the Prime Minister and his inaction which ultimately was exposed and an important minister was at long last removed from the ministry. In this perspective it is far from fair if I do not while referring to the Prime Minister and his nonfeasance, to deal with the Supreme Court itself. In this context, I address Justice Ganguly the judge concerned in a seemingly separate letter but integrally linked to the Prime Minister's inaction which I include as part of this essay of mine. The common objective being corruption in high places and gross inaction as delinquency guilty of the top constitutional functionaries.

On the 2nd November, I met all the judges of the Supreme Court in the Chamber of the Chief Justice in his company. I felt it proud to see that grand institution, the most powerful instrument under the Constitution to dispense socio-political justice against anyone guilty of injustice, be he ever so high. Today, when I read the Hindu and your sharp observations critical of the inaction of the Prime Minister, I felt that the Court with its imperious independence still served a purpose to guarantee the people's struggle against corruption which is now the most pervasive, pernicious and minatory operational Vice in our Republic. Please convey my deep appreciation of this courageous operation to all your colleagues. You are perhaps the one paramount power that still survives to battle in Bharat against corruption which must be eliminated if justice is to be a reality more powerful than the omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient money power that today governs state power. But I wonder why a corrupt judge is not proceeded against by your court. Are you, the Supreme Court protecting your own brethren (Dinakaran?) when they are shown to be corrupt? Prosecute them, never pardon them. Inaction against delinquent judges brings down the great institutional integrity. I assume that you know that when Indira Gandhi's case was heard by me, no one was allowed even to enter my house and a fearless judgment was praised even by my critic Seervai. The Supreme Court of India must remain supreme and if it goes to sleep when its own brother judges are found to be corrupt or do not write judgments at all, it is a pity, a pity. O, the pity of it.
