IIM Lucknow: India SME Conclave 2010 to Discuss Sustainable and Enhanced Growth for MSMEs

However, the SMEs sector in India, is yet to be matured, in technological advancement happening around the globe. This sector suffers from problems of suboptimal scales of operations and technological obsolescence. There is absolute need for financial as well as technical improvement methodologies. This would help them to identify and evaluate alternate technologies that would suit their requirements. Poor financial situations and low levels of R&D, poor adaptability to changing trade trends, non-availability of technically trained human resources, lack of management skills, lack of access to technological information and consultancy services and isolation from technology hubs, etc. are some of the reasons why these SMEs are not being able to surge ahead.
With a view to expand its activities to the SMEs sector in India and to address the issues face by the SMEs, the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Lucknow conducted the “India SME Conclave -2009” at IIM Lucknow campus on last year in association with the Indian Industries Association (IIA) and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). The theme of the conclave was “Low cost financing options and the impact of Free Trade Agreements on the SME sector in India”, with special emphasis on Indo-ASEAN FTA.
Continuing the legacy and in on endeavor to address challenges faced by the MSME sector in India, the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIM Lucknow, in association with IIA will organise “India SME Conclave 2010”. The theme of the conclave is “Managing MSME business for Sustainable Enhanced Growth”. The conclave aims at giving insights to Indian MSME on developing strategies for sustainable enhanced growth.
