Embedded Technology is the Need of the hour: Mark Bhasm

The proliferation of competing devices in the area of mobile technology is tremendous. The gaming machines that are available are mind blowing. World is changing rapidly and technology is touching every aspect of our life”, these are the remarks of Mark Bhasm, Managing Director of Asia Pacific BSI Group.

Speaking at the Mobile and Embedded Technology Conference organised by Amity School of Engineering & Technology recently, Bhasm described the embeddedtechnology as a need of hour and said, “everybody wants to carry only a single device having all the facilities and features and that is the area of embedded technology. Developments are taking place regularly. Like networking facility is absolutely everywhere these days though it is an old process but different devices have come out for social networking. That is due to technological development. The way we work, interact and communicate are altogether changing. The focus of all the organizations, at present, is on innovative technologies.”

Bhasm was of the view that by 2012 the business applications software will be on subscription basis and licensing would not be needed. Bhasm also told that success and barriers to achievement exist only in our heads. When a man truly aspires to achieve, nothing is impossible.

Maj. Gen. K. Jai Singh,Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh stressed on the tremendous technological changes, 'which have helped everyone to perform lot of complicated tasks in fraction of seconds.'

The convener at the event, Dr. Balvinder Shukla also emphasized that embedded technology has become part and parcel of our life. “It is being used right from home appliances to medical appliances, defence purpose and even everywhere.”

P. D. Bhargava, DG, AITTM also highlighted the significance of embedded technology. “Embedded technology completely changes the concept. In future high features will be in demand. Sectors like consumer electronics and others equipped with embedded technology will certainly grow,” he said.

Sharing his views on the emerging Trends in mobile technology, Sriram T.V, VP Networks, Bharti Airtel Ltd. said, “Toady almost seventy per cent of India's population is below thirty years of age. So explosion of media usage is remarkably high. Service industry is expanding and infotainment has made a break through in the life of present generation. The time line of past, present and future can be shifted. Wi-fi and Bluetooth are the landmarks in the advancement of technologies. Wireless technology has evolved which has made our electrical gadgets mobile. It is a landmark achievement.”

An interesting poster display event was organized during the conference. The students from various engineering institutions across the country came up with thought provoking ideas and innovations. Out of 50 research poster papers 13 were selected.
