Store the Future of Your Enterprise in Dell Storage
Aug 2010
During the last few years, SMEs have implemented a large number of innovations in various segments like software applications, work processes, business organizations, enterprise resource planning and management, supply-chain management, customer-relations management and business intelligence.

To handle all these SMEs are tending towards more and more ICT applications and devices. If we see the PC (Personal Computer) penetration among the SMEs in India, it is 38% of the total adoption. Many medium size companies who generally employ 300-600 workmen are now switching to the heavy ICT models for the increased efficiency and timely delivery.
“Most of the SMEs are now adopting the ICT solutions. The factors which are driving their willingness to adopt this pattern are the pressures to keep customers satisfied, collapsing response time, improving the production process and quality and easy or simple handling of the management,” says Swati Sasmal, Sr. Director in Research with AMI Partners, a global strategy consulting firm which has a wealth of experience in the IT and telecom industries specifically within the small and medium business marketplace.
Pain Points for SMEs
But the heavy dependency on such applications leads to a solution which keeps all the records. Such types of record devices are often called storage devices. The primary storages being enabled in the PC itself are called hard drives, removable disks and drives which generally are used in the one or more than one systems.
But as the quantum of data storage increases we need higher storage devices which are common for the server and networking platforms. At such platforms where the users need to save heavy amount of data, they also need for the data sharing and management.
“The research being done by the AMI partners also shows that sales and marketing, investment, customers are the factors affecting the ICT adaptation and expansion. Amongst the total number of small and medium enterprises, only 15% of the small enterprises are found to have branches while medium enterprises with branches number 85%. To handle these branches the SMEs need better solutions with improved options for the storage. Type of the content, locations, size, quality of service, protection levels, backup and archiving policies are some the factors which emphasize on the storage with higher capacity,” says Swati.
