SMEs are focusing on improving production methods, finding penetrative marketing strategies and management capabilities to sustain and strengthen their operations. In order to keep pace with their global palyers, SMEs are now orienting towards the IT with zeal and recognizing the importance and value of IT for boosting their business productivity and profitability.
SMEs in India are the maximum in the number and their gradual rise is opening up huge market, offering SMEs-dedicated products and services. IT and ICT are two major areas which are motivating various companies to develop products and services for SMEs.
Lenovo is bullish on emerging Indian SME segment and has launched an array of products exclusively for this segment. With plans to significantly increase its market share in the burgeoning Indian SME segment, Lenovo has formulated a clear strategy for growth and enhanced profitability by investing in products, brand, channels, services and key growth markets especially in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
What are the prime factors driving SMEs towards adoption of IT or ICT solutions?
SMEs, unlike large enterprises, may not be able to afford a big IT budget. Traditionally, SMEs didn't have an efficient process for recording/organizing their data - this resulted in SMEs being overly dependent on the people managing their data. However, spurred by factors like continuous technological advancements and ever increasing market competition in recent years, Indian SMEs have grown by leaps and bounds. This is the prime reason that is driving SMEs towards IT and ICT adoption. SMEs are now beginning to realize the long term benefits of IT/ICT solutions and are now investing in IT infrastructure to keep themselves abreast of their global peers.
