Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0
Aug 2010
The Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0 is an integrated solution designed to protect smartphones from all kind of threats. With excellent security levels, the new release includes ultimate features like anti-theft, encryption, anti-spam, parental control, anti-virus and firewall and privacy protection.

The new Privacy Protection feature enables users to hide information about any contact they want to keep confidential. A list of confidential contacts can be created from the contact lists on the SIM or the phone's onboard memory. With the touch of a button, users of Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0 can mark contact as 'private', meaning that no trace of them will appear in contact lists, call logs, SMSs or incoming calls. Anyone else using the smartphone will be completely unaware of the hidden information.
Speaking about the new release, Sk Ling Gun, Managing Director (South Asia), Kapsersky Lab India said, “We are proud to announce the launch of Kaspersky Mobile Security 9.0 in India. The number of smartphone users in India is rising day by day. In fact the number of smartphone entrants in the country too is growing rapidly and surprisingly on affordable prices. We are sure that with this overall rise in numbers, this product will be well-accepted among users in India.”
Talking about the mobile threats, Gun said, “Mostly people are not aware of the mobile threats. They don't even realize there is a
virus for mobile phones or their contacts in the mobile may get stolen or the hacker may even make use of an unprotected smartphone to transfer money to send SMS spam, etc.”
The new version of Kaspersky Mobile Security also includes enhancements to the anti-theft feature that a smartphone user can use to block the device if it is lost or stolen, wipe its memory, locate it via GPS as well as receive notification of the new number if the SIM is changed. After it has blocked remotely, the smartphone can display a prearranged message allowing any law-abiding citizen to return it to its rightful owner.
