As the year 2010 drew to a close, a host of Indian entrepreneurs belonging to the SMEs sector were honoured for their achievements by organizations like Milagrow, a private organisation working for the promotion of MSMEs sector and Indiamart, a popular B2B portal. The Indiamart awards were supported by ET Now.

Milagrow's 'Trailblazers Awards'

Milagrow announced 'Trailblazers Awards' for ten organizations which have displayed exemplary excellence in the areas of innovation and brand management while Indiamart honoured entrepreneurial talents across sectors.

Milagrow's founder Director Rajiv Karwal announcing the awards at a Meet in Delhi said, “The vision of these awards was to incentivize innovation and improved management & organizational capabilities in not only the winners, but across the MSME sector. It is an effort to reward those companies who have challenged the established paradigm in their industry domains in the spirit to grow with innovation while enhancing the value which is being offered to their consumers.”

The Awards were supported by Alibaba.com, the world's largest Online Trade Portal and by the popular business news channel 'Zee Business'. 

According to Milagrow's Press statement, “the awardees had to pass a rigorous evaluation process, that was controlled and monitored by an esteemed jury panel comprising of eminent personalities like Dr. Jagdish Sheth, Prof Anil Gupta, Rajeev Karwal, Raman Roy and Sanjeev Bhikchandani.”

In this edition of the Milagrow Trailblazers Awards, ten organizations were awarded including Aries Agro from the Agricultural Inputs & Equipments category, that introduced bio-degradable crop nutrients which changed the lives of 8 million farmers, in 1,70,000 villages across 22 states in India. In the Clean, Green and Renewable Energy category, Nandan Biomatrix was recognized for developing the first ever “Jatropha Hybrids” that yield higher seed & oil content, and better suitability as energy fuel. Plant Remedies Private, was the trailblazer in the Cehmicals Industry, with their contribution of introducing water-soluble pesticides and fertilizers which are suitable for all types of soils and climate across India. Aadarsh Private Limited was recognized for their contribution in the Education and Skill Building Industry for introducing Multimedia Print Reading Technology in India, which enables simultaneous hearing of contents of already printed books. For creating a consortium of marginal & regional artisans based in Jaipur and to meet the increasing demands, without compromising the quality of their products, Desert Artisans Handicrafts Jaipur was also recognized as a Trailblazer in the Handicrafts Industry. In Healthcare, Vasu Healthcare Private, was recognized for their innovative marketing campaigns and attractive product packaging. For designing an automatic die-punching and creasing machine that are as effective as 4 manual machines and are not dependent on the operator or his skills, Autoprint Machinery was given the award in the Light Engineering Category. Stag International was given the Milagrow Trailblazers award for their unique marketing strategy of selling Table Tennis tables as loss leaders and sports-accessories at profit.
