The maximum number of units is in Uttar Pradesh where 3113316 units have there presencesof which 187522 units are in registered sector while 2925794 units are in unregistered sector. Due to its diverse nature, dependence on individual initiatives and drive, the sector always has been confronting with the challenges about the information flow about the supports and developments which they require.
To sustain and excel in the global era, SMEs, faced with stiff competition, need to be more innovative and productive. To grow they need to know about the developments and changes, trends and preferences in their domain so that they need to be updated to know about the hustling-bustling in their segment.
There are various channels for the information exchange and the trade events like fairs, conferences, workshops, etc. have been among the best platforms to exchange the ideas within the domain and to know about the developments.
In an effort to provide such platform and at the same time providing real knowledge to the students who are the future entrepreneurs, Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Uttar Pradesh, (IED UP), is organizing a MSME Summit cum Exhibition 2011 during March 12-14 2011 at its campus in Lucknow.
